3 Things I Found at EXHIBITOR2014

A few weeks ago I posted a blog called 3 Things I Want from EXHIBITOR2014. Well, the world conference and exhibition for trade show and corporate event marketers has come and gone, and boy…. was it a blast!

But, did I get from the conference everything I had hoped to? What were some of my findings? Read on below, and let’s find out.

1. seeing “the next big thing”

EXHIBITOR2014 was definitely a melting pot of Next Big Things. Booths both big and small had brought their A-game, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Here are a few photos from the show that drive home the point that presence and clear marketing message on the floor, interaction and engagement between show attendees and social media and new technology have a lasting impression. To check out all of the great photos GraphiColor took, visit our EXHIBITOR2014 photo album on Facebook, here.

2. learning the lingo

There were so many great booths to stop by and check out at EXHIBITOR2014. While the industry glossary of terms was certainly helpful, I found more display systems being built more user-friendly. So the lingo, as you’ll see in this quick beMatrix display system demo, is quite simple and very easy to understand – no glossary of terms needed. View the brief, minute demo, here.

3. Networking opportunities

Being new to the industry has its challenges; tenfold when you’re at a show in another state and don’t know anyone. I was grateful for the networking opportunities offered through EXHIBITOR2014. They made it much easier to acclimate, and the people were so friendly and welcoming that by the end of the conference you really felt like a part of the group and not like an outsider.

There were so many networking opportunities (thanks!), but my favorites included the Welcome Reception, Dinner with a Stranger and Exhibit City News party. I took home so many business cards and connections that I feel like next year I’ll be seeing friends. (Tip: don’t let those business cards sit idle! Add your new friends on LinkedIn so you can connect and share with them throughout the year and strengthen the relationship before seeing them again next year at the show.)
